Automating genomic reports

Meat & Livestock Australia described Project Shepherd in a report dated 29 September 2026. The project is developing an automated pipeline for Australian Sheep Genomic Values and Flock Profiles, two tools used in commercial breeding decisions. The planned pipeline will process results by order number and deliver them through an authorised interface to a genomics provider.

Profiles for breeders and flocks

The same project includes a public Stud Breeder Profile and commercial dashboards for flock-profile results, performance measures and ram-team tracking. MLA lists the work as in progress, with a scheduled project end in December 2026. Its report describes the digital services being developed; it does not publish a new estimate of genetic gain or a completed farm trial.
