Typical Pig Line Process Flow
- Lairage and reception — holding pens, driving race and weighing, sized for stress-free animal flow
- Stunning — electric stunning for most capacities; CO2 stunning systems for high-throughput industrial lines
- Bleeding — shackling, hoisting and bleeding rail with collection, timed for complete exsanguination
- Scalding — canal scalding with automatic temperature control, or scalding tunnels on automated lines
- Dehairing — spiral dehairing machines matched to pig size and line speed, with hot water recycling options
- Singeing and polishing — flame singeing and whip polishing for clean, white carcasses
- Evisceration — synchronized evisceration conveyor with red and white offal separation
- Splitting — carcass splitting saw with sterilization and positioning guides
- Inspection and weighing — veterinary inspection stations and carcass scales
- Chilling — transfer to chilling room rails, with cold chain interface design
