Trial on a processing line

The Australian Meat Processor Corporation (AMPC) published results of its Stage 4 shadow-robotics project on 9 October 2026. The trial used two integrated robots to pick and pack lamb brisket pieces on the IW line at JBS Brooklyn. A trained operator controlled the system remotely from within the facility and, in a separate test, from New Zealand.

Next step described by AMPC

AMPC reported that the remote-operation setup worked in the live packing application. Its project summary also described a transition from operator selection toward automated selection using machine learning. Matching the pick-and-pack rate of the production line for both robots remained a development target in the report.
