Cameras followed visual identifiers through deboning, packing and carton labelling.

Cameras were installed at three stages
The Australian Meat Processor Corporation reported on 13 October 2026 that it and FloVision tested visual tracing at a commercial beef processing plant. Camera stations operated in the deboning hall, retail packing room and carton-labelling area. Images taken as meat passed through those stages were used to match a carcass ID with primal cuts, steaks and packed cartons, without adding physical tags to the cuts.
The reported checks covered labels and contents
At the final packing stage, AMPC said the system read 1,275 of 1,275 label fields correctly, counted carton contents in 83 validation videos and matched products to printed labels in those tests. The project team plans further work on tenderloin and rump cuts and trials at more plants. The published counts describe the validation sample from this facility.
