Week 42 EU averages
The European Commission live-bovine price sheet updated on 22 October 2026 covers Week 42, from 12 to 18 October. Its EU average for young store cattle was €4.70 per kilogram, down €0.05 from the preceding week. Yearling male store cattle averaged €5.69 per kilogram, down €0.16, while yearling females averaged €4.53 per kilogram, down €0.11. These are three separate live-cattle categories in the same report.
Separate units for calves
The report also lists male calves by the head rather than by the kilogram: the EU average was €396.50 per head for beef-type calves and €230.98 per head for dairy-type calves aged eight days to four weeks. The per-head prices are not included in the three-bar kilogram chart. The figures are European Union averages assembled from member-state submissions for the stated reporting week.
